New Zealand has some tremendous skiing, truly wonderful and for the most part the centre of the New Zealand snow scene is in Queenstown on the South Island.
Queenstown, like many other leading ski resorts has tremendous “Apres Ski”, it also has runs for all ability levels. More importantly it isn’t coming with a massive price tag.
Excellent Ski Fields
Hotels, lift passes, transport are all priced to make sure everywhere is busy.
Of course there are high end prices, but there is also a bucketful of medium and budget priced accommodation, places to eat, bars and nightclubs.
Queenstown is serviced by its own airport and with Christchurch not too far away a skiing holiday in NZ is more than within reach for the Australian skier.
When you are skiing in Queenstown you are closest to the Coronet Peak ski field, which is a 20 minute drive from Queenstown with The Remarkables only 35 minutes drive away from Queenstown.
Both ski fields are top quality.
Like on any trip and especially on a skiing trip make sure you are properly protected for winter sports/skiing. Injuries on the ski fields are frequent and often not the fault of the injured person.
Not surprisingly we recommend you take out travel insurance for your trip to Queenstown, you can get a quote using the “Get a quote” button.
Happy and safe skiing!
